PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printing system which is able to suppress electric power consumption at minimum while ensuring remote access routes between printers and a print server on standby, and a printer which is suitably used on the system. SOLUTION: With the save energy mode of network printers 20A, 20B, 20C connected to the different types of network, electric power supply to network connection means 6B (6A, 6C) required for remote access is secured, and electric power supply to network connection means 5B (5A, 5C), which consume relatively large amount of power, is cutoff. Thus a state which can receive print data/ command from print request issuing device 32, 52 in accordance with the printer 20B is secured, and electric power consumption can be reduced without degrading the usability. |
