PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal regeneration system which is very suitable for integration, by intensity and phase modulation. SOLUTION: This system 1 has a mode blocking laser which can regenerate a clock signal indicating a bit clock of an optical signal to be and a modulation interference structure 5 which has first and second interference measuring arms 33, 35, and can modulate an amplitude and phase of the optical signal according to the clock signal, and contains at least one semiconductor optical amplifier SOA1 disposed in the first interference measuring arm 33. The mode blocking laser is joined with the first interference measuring arm 33 so that the amplifier SOA1 of the first interference measuring arm becomes a common structural part to the mode blocking laser and the interference measuring structure 5. |
