PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that efficiently transmits/receives a plurality of image data in order to process the image data in parallel. SOLUTION: When the quantity of scanned image data in a scanning buffer 25 reaches a 1st prescribed quantity, transfer of the scanned image data from an engine board 1 to a facsimile board 2 via a common bus 4 is interrupted and transfer of print image data from the facsimile board 2 to the engine board 1 via the common bus 4 is permitted. Since the scanned image data in the scanning buffer 25 are coded and then stored in an image memory 23, when the coding is delayed, the quantity of the scanned image data in the scanning buffer 25 reaches the 1st prescribed quantity. When transfer of the scanned image data continues, since the scanning buffer 25 overflows, the transfer of the scanned image data is interrupted and the transfer of the print image data is permitted instead.
