PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register accurate preference information without the need for a user to make troublesome operations. SOLUTION: Since a preference information registration window 72 displays key words of corresponding contents with discrimination of three layers; 'program type', 'program material' and 'others', a keyword 'documentary' is classified and displayed in a program type area 81, and keywords 'Miki Suzuki', 'Satoshi Ishii', 'Minoru Yamada' and 'Tibet' are classified and displayed in a program material area 82 that is the 2nd layer, and keywords 'Race', 'Nature' are classified and displayed in other areas 83 that is the 3rd layer. The user refers to a display menu 71 shown in Figure 4 and selects keywords showing which of contents going to be viewed at present or contents going to be recorded at present is matching its own preference.
