PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal that automatically allows an antenna to track a direction of an orbiting satellite by easily discriminating a position of the orbiting satellite from a received electric field strength level of a received radio wave. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal is provided with a storage device 38 that stores a distance up to an orbiting satellite in a zenith direction, an arithmetic unit 39 that calculates a received electric field strength level when the orbiting satellite is in the zenith direction on the basis of output level information from the orbiting satellite and the distance up to the orbiting satellite in the zenith direction obtained from the storage device, a reception electric field strength level detector 37 that detects a reception electric field strength level of the received signal from the orbiting satellite, a comparator circuit 40 that compares the reception detection section level at the reception of output level information with the reception electric field strength level obtained by the calculation, a tracking means that estimates a position of the orbiting satellite on the basis of the result of comparison so as to automatically allow the antenna to track the orbiting satellite. The mobile terminal automatically allows the antenna to track the orbiting satellite without accurate position information from the satellite. |
