PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chat system capable of executing chat even among users who use different languages. SOLUTION: The chat system, connecting plural pieces of terminal equipment having at least a chatting function to a server device 10 via a public network 30 and transmitting/receiving messages between respective pieces of terminal equipment 20 via the server device 10, is provided with a message translation means 43 for translating a message transmitted from the 1st terminal equipment into one or more languages and a transmission means 44 for transmitting the translated message to respective pieces of terminal equipment 20.
