PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a node diagnostic system that can locate a faulty ECU with high probability. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a first frame after an ECU is reset, a frame analysis section 44 and a count section 45 of a data repeater 4 count number of reset times by each ECU, a fault ECU discrimination section 46 relatively compares the number of reset times of a target ECU with that of other ECUs and discriminates the target ECU to be faulty when the number of reset times of the target ECU is excessively higher. Even when the number of reset times of the ECUs is high as a whole due to power supply fluctuations or the like, it is not discriminated to be faulty so that the node diagnostic system can clearly distinct a true faulty ECU from the others.
