PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To file code systems of each hierarchically sorted item by inputting data while grasping hierarchical structure of the entire code system by a simple operation when the code systems are defined and filed. SOLUTION: Fundamental items including the number of hierarchies are inputted in input parts 21 to 23 of the fundamental items. A header frame 32 consisting of each hierarchy is plotted on a screen based on the inputted fundamental items and input frames 33, 34 to input records of each item belonging to a specified high-order hierarchy are hierarchically plotted on the screen by specifying the high-order hierarchy including the lowermost layer in the header frames 32 of each hierarchy. The records are linked together with the order of the hierarchy of the file and stored by inputting the records of items corresponding to each hierarchy in the input frames 33, 34. Thus, the data of each hierarchy is filed while grasping the hierarchical structure of the entire code systems by a simple operation.
