PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress adhesion of molten metal of sintered metal body and to cope with the miniaturization of an electric discharge tube. SOLUTION: In one main electrode of the electric discharge tube having sintered metallic body mounted at a tip, a bottomed cylindrical metallic cylinder is mounted so as to cover the sintered metallic body, the bottom part of the metallic cylinder is faced to the other main electrode and a gap is formed between a cylindrical part of the metallic cylinder and the sintered metallic body.
