PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of providing excellent convergence without using a convergence correction unit or correcting a convergence by a magnet from the outside. SOLUTION: This deflection yoke 3 comprises a horizontal deflection coil 4 and a vertical deflection coil 5 deflecting the electron beams 10B, 10G, and 10R emitted from the neck of a color cathode-ray tube 1 in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. The thickness of a coil 4a at the specified portion 14 of the horizontal deflection coil 4 within a specified angular area from a horizontal axis X is locally varied in each quadrant divided into four parts by the horizontal axis X and a vertical axis Y passing a pipe axis in a vertical surface relative to the pipe axis O of the color cathode-ray tube 1.
