PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication network system applicable to a DCS station, a mobile telephone network, a personal communication system, a next-generation mobile communication system by using the optical link in a digital optical transmission system. SOLUTION: The mobile communication system comprises a base station controller 3 to control many small base stations, a compact base station controller 18 to receive the capacity in the remaining base station to operate the controller 3, a compact base station devices 14 connected respectively to the controller 18 by using a digital optical link and arranged in a row along the link, and an optical transponder 73 to divide or synthesize the appropriate signal to the devices 14 connected via a digital optical network, to connect to the RF parts of the devices 14 and also to amplify the other signals to transmit them to the devices 14 of the next stage and to connect the devices 14 in the row.
