PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the execution of data transfer having the risk of data errors, from a host device to a peripheral device. SOLUTION: Prescribed data are transmitted to a drive device 2, by using a data transfer mode selected out of plural kinds of data transfer modes using the control of a control part 10 in a host computer 1; the prescribed data received from the host computer 1 are compared with comparing data prepared, on the basis of an instruction from the host computer 1; and when it is determined that a comparison error is generated on the basis of the comparison result, the transmission/reception of data to/from the host computer 1 by the selected data transfer mode is inhibited.
