PURPOSE: A method for confirming a visitor and transmitting a message using a hotel commercial TV is provided for a hotel customer to identify a visitor who calls on the customer through a TV system installed in the customer's room. CONSTITUTION: When a visitor calls on a customer registered at a hotel, the room number of the customer and a channel for image transmission are received. A TV installed in the room is powered on(S16). The TV channel is converted into a visitor confirmation channel and the picture of the visitor is displayed through the visitor confirmation channel(S17). After the customer identifies the visitor, the customer is requested to allow the visitor to call on or reject the visitor by inputting a key(S18). When the customer allows the visitor to call on or rejects the visitor, a confirmation message is transmitted to the visitor. If there is no key input for a predetermined period of time, the customer is judged to be absent and the visitor is requested to leave a message or not. When the visitor wants to leave a message, the picture and sound of the visitor are recorded, the TV is powered on, and then the visitor message is displayed in =OSD. When there is a key input, the recorded picture and sound are reproduced to allow the customer to confirm the visitor and the message.
