PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method or the like that can save time and effort to set a MAC(Media Access Control) address to a node of an Ethernet (R) and to install an address resolution protocol to the node. SOLUTION: In a communication system consisting of two nodes 11, 12 to which a MAC address is assigned and that make communication with each other through the Ethernet or in compliance with the IEEE 802.3, an optional value is set to a destination address field in a packet in the case of transmission when an optional value is respectively set to the MAC address of each of the nodes 11, 12, (step S11), and in the case of reception, the value in the destination address filed and a source address field of the packet is disregarded by interpreting that the packet is addressed from an opposite node to its own node (step S16).
