PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for managing a cluster in a computing environment. SOLUTION: Various components are provided for managing a clustered environment. The components include a system registry for providing a global data storage area; a configuration manager for locally storing data on a node in the clustered environment and globally storing the data in the system registry; an active component for providing the situation of the communication path of a cluster; a group service component for offering a service to one or a plurality of other components in the clustered environment; and a resource management component for communicating with one or a plurality of resource controllers in the clustered environment. The respective components of the clustered environment have one or a plurality of data dependence relations or functional dependence relations to one or a plurality of the other components.
