<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem such that it has been conventionally diffi culty to effectively solve a bar code error. SOLUTION: Upon an error in scanning bar code, a system displays an erroneously scanned bar code to show an insufficiently resolved character. For confirming the scanned item, the clerk or operator needs only to fill slipped digits without manually inputting the whole code. A search engine evaluates the sufficiently resolved part of the bar code and displays a text and/or graphic list of all products with the resolved part of the bar code. The clerk or operator only needs to select the correct item from the screen list and confirm the sale. The completed bar code is printable on receipt paper by a printer. The user can use the printed bar code for the item continuously causing a bar code error. The system can hold a list of erroneously scanned bar codes.</p> |
