PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventionally a rotor rotates only by inertial force, in a section where torque is not generated and may cease to rotate, depending on a load that is applied to an output shaft, since there exists a section where torque is not generated at either A or B phase in a normal two-phase reluctance motor, and then, once the rotor cases to rotate, a startup becomes difficult, since sufficient torque is not obtained for restarting. SOLUTION: A two-phase reluctance motor comprises a stator 24, having 2n pieces of pole projections each of which is wound with a winding at its inner peripheral side and a rotor 22 that is disposed at the inner peripheral side of the stator 24 and has pole projections which is 1.5 times those of the stator on its outer peripheral side. The motor is also configured, such that the tip of the pole projection 25 of the stator is split into plural number.
