PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outline correction device and an outline correction method, which can always realize high resolution, irrespective of the size of an optical diaphragm value, and to provide an outline correction program recording medium. SOLUTION: Gain-adjusting means 14 and 15 multiply a signal s11a passing through BPF once and a signal s11b passing through it two times by G1 and G2 times with respect to a video signal s10 and signals s12 and s13 are obtained. A signal, obtained by variously weighting signals s12 and s13 according to the size of the difference of the signals s12 and s13 and compositing them is outputted as a signal s15. The signal s15 is added with a video signal s16 and is outputted it as a video signal s17, whose outline is emphasized.
