PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shading correction method, in which unevenness of image can be corrected accurately, regardless of the input level to an image input device. SOLUTION: Output value from each pixel part of an image input device is corrected, using I/O characteristics data indicative of correlation between the input value and the output value for each of a plurality of pixel parts of the image input device, and the output values from all pixel parts, when a uniform light is inputted.
