PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original offset quantity detector capable of detecting an offset quantity from the transmissive plate of an original. SOLUTION: The original offset quantity detector is provided with the transmissive plate 12 for placing the original 11 thereon, a beam light irradiation part 27 for irradiating the original with beam light through the transmissive plate and a detection part 32 for detecting reflected light from the transmissive plate of the beam light and that from the original and measures the offset quantity D with respect to the transmissive plate of the original from the positions of both reflected lights.
