PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner that can transfer a scanned image in a fax or an E-mail. SOLUTION: This scanner includes a photoelectric means 201, a processor 203, a storage means 205, an entry means 207, a display panel 209 and a MO DEM 213. The photoelectric means 201 scans an original and converts the scanned result into image data. On the other hand, the storage means 205 acts like a storage buffer of the image data. The entry means 207 (e.g. a keypad) allows this scanner to accept an instruction or a parameter from an operator. The display panel 209 displays the instruction or parameter for collation or confirmation. The MODEM 213 is incorporated in the inside of the scanner so as to allow the scanner to connect with the Internet.
