PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that can process image data from a personal computer so as to reduce the processing time through efficient shared processing even when image data read by an image reader is under image processing. SOLUTION: In the case of processing of image data (1st image data) by an image reader 3, a block not in use is detected among image processing blocks 4A-4C, a selection control means 7 controls the state of selection means 5 (5A-5D) selecting the input image data and image data (2nd image data) transmitted from a personal computer is given to the image processing block 4C not in use. Thus, even when the 1st image data are under processing, the image data from the personal computer PC can be processed by the image processing block 4C not in use so as to reduce the waiting time until the processing is finished.
