PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an elastic contact piece extending like a cantilever from being displaced in the direction crossing the extension direction. SOLUTION: A female terminal fitting 10 has the elastic contact piece 17 extending in a cantilever form, and a male terminal fitting 30 is connected with the elastic contact piece 17 while coming into slide-contact with it in the direction crossing the extension direction. A stopper 23 is provided ahead of elastic displacement 17 of the male terminal fitting 30 in the direction of slide-contact for the male terminal fitting 30. Even if the elastic contact piece 17 receives a pressing and moving force in the direction crossing the extension direction due to the friction when it comes into slide-contact with the male terminal fitting 30, loose movement of the elastic contact piece 17 in the direction crossing the extension direction is regulated by the abutting on the stopper 23.
