PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress adhesion of molten metal of a main electrode to an inner wall of a glass bulb at the time of electric discharging and to cope with the miniaturization of an electric discharge tube. SOLUTION: In sintered metallic body of the main electrode in the electric discharge tube, wt.% of mixture of metal fine powder of tantalum and niobium is set (5:95) to (20:80).
