PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic equipment in which the power supply of the equipment main body side is automatically shut down when an operating panel is opened from the main body and that condition lasts for a prescribed time. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment is provided with an equipment main body 2A and an operating panel 3 which is freely openable and closable with respect to the body 2A and is also freely attachable to and detachable from the body 2A. When the panel 3 is opened, a computer detects the fact that the connection between a connecting pin 341 of a connector 34 and a connecting pin 231 of a connector 23 is released and initiates the operation of a timer 26A and the power supply of the body 2A is shut down a specific time later.
