PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve the efficiency of document housing work when scanning and housing an original document. SOLUTION: In the scanner for scanning and reading a document, generating image data and transmitting the image data to an external information processor, prescribed information is inputted by an operator (S802) and image data in a hierarchical structure containing the image data provided by reading and a plurality of attribute item information are generated and outputted to the external device (S803-S808). In this case, a plurality of attribute item information contain the resolution of reading inputted by the operator, image type, the number of bits, the designation of double side or single side, an original size, an image format, an operator's name, a charging belonging code and the transmission destination of the image data or the like. Besides, the information contains the date or machine place name of reading or image memory capacity and the number of originals or the like to be provided as a result of reading the original.
