PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for acquiring the position of a mobile telephone terminal capable of specifying more precisely the current position of a mobile telephone terminal. SOLUTION: When a radio portion 1 receives a request for registration of position from a personal handy phone terminal, a position acquisition portion 4 is initiated by a position acquisition control portion 2. The position acquisition portion 4 reads, from a memory portion 3, the information for locating an adjacent radio station of which position is registered by the personal handy phone terminal before moving, and information for identifying a radio base station to which it moves, then identifying a detailed positional area in an area to which the personal handy phone terminal moves and in which the terminal can be called. Furthermore, the position acquisition portion 4 reads the positional information corresponding to the detailed positional area for displaying on the personal handy telephone terminal.
