METHOD FOR CREATING HEADER, USER-SIDE TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENT, AND STATION-SIDE TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create the VIC value contained in the header of an ATM cell 31 used when signals are transmitted between a station-side SLT 2 and a user- side ONU 1 by using ATM. SOLUTION: The VCI value of the ONU1 is created by utilizing the MAC address which corresponds to the ONU1 one by one and held by the ONU1 itself. At the time of creating the VCI value, the MAC address read out by means of the ONU1 is transmitted to the SLT2 and the calculating means 26 of the SLT2 calculates the VCI value by using a random number generating function. The information on the random number generating function is transmitted from the SLT2 to the ONU1 and the calculating means 14 of the ONU1 also calculates the VCI value by using the same random number generating function.
