PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent local temperature rise, to improve durability of a heating roller, and to improve safety in a heating system of a method for heating the circumferential directional partial area of the fast-rising and high-speed rotatable heating roller from the roller outside. SOLUTION: This fixing device 12 has a fixing roller 28 and a pressurizing roller 30 brought into pressure contact with this fixing roller, and a heating source 32 for heating the circumferential directional partial area of the fixing roller 28 is arranged outside the fixing roller 28. The temperature of the fixing roller 28 is detected with a thermistor 34. The outer fixing roller 28 is rotated, when warming up the fixing roller 28 up to reaching a preset temperature.
