The console assembly, comprising the console (5) itself and a support (9) fastened to the floor (3) of a motor vehicle, has a sliding mechanism of rails (13a, 13b) and rollers (17a, 17b, 19b) for adjusting the console relative to the support and a locking mechanism (23, 29) to fasten it in the required position. The sliding and locking mechanisms are located at least partly within the volume of the console, and the support is shaped so that the console is in contact with the floor and the main support member (11) is inside the console. |
