PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing low carbon steel wire with a tensile strength of greater than 250 kg/mm¬2 is provided, which is characterized in that the it is possible to directly conduct cold drawing operation from wire state to elongation strain rate 4 without process heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: The method of manufacturing low carbon steel wire with a tensile strength of greater than 250 kg/mm¬2 includes the steps of hot rolling a steel wire rod comprising C 0.05 to 0.3 wt.%, Si 0.1 to 2.0 wt.%, Mn 0.2 to 1.0 wt.%, V 0.3 to 1.5 wt.%, N 30 to 200 ppm, at least one elements selected from Nb 0.01 to 0.1 wt.%, Cu 0.1 to 0.5 wt.% and Mo 0.05 to 0.5 wt.%, a balance of Fe and incidental impurities; and continuously cooling the steel wire rod to 500°C at a cooling rate of 40 to 50°C/sec so that austenite transformation is induced from wire state to elongation strain rate 4 without process heat treatment.
