PURPOSE: An optical system for a head mount display is provided to be capable of reducing manufacturing costs by using cheap components, and of optimizing image quality by increasing the efficiency of an optical source. CONSTITUTION: A light guide panel(30) reflects the beam emitted from an optical source(20) by right angle, and focuses the reflected beam within a predetermined angle toward a reflection type LC screen(10). The reflection type LC screen(10) displays an image using the beam emitted from the light guide panel(30). A free curved prism(40) is positioned in front of the reflection type LC screen(10) to magnify the image on the screen. The optical source(20) is R, G, B LEDs. Fine waves(32) are formed on the light guide panel(30).
