<p>This invention relates to a lift (10) which is operated by a hydraulic cylinder assembly (42) which is actuated with pressurised water, typically from a mains water supply (55). The lift includes a load bearing platform in the form of a floor (14), and a load bearing platform support member in the form of a support pole (72) which is connected to the piston rod (60) of the hydraulic cylinder (42). The support pole (72) is arranged to lie adjacent and substantially parallel to the piston rod (60). Guide means, in the form of three channel-shaped guide rails (22), which are connected to the lift (10) and support pole (72) by way of spacer elements (34 and 66) which have rollers which fit into the guide rails(22), is provided for guiding the lift (10) on a support surface (24), such as the wall of a building.</p> |
