<p>When data in which management information including at least one of a set of copy management information items and a set of reproduction management information items is buried is outputted, new management information is read out of the data in which the new management information generated by partly altering the management information is buried, the read new management information is identified by statistically processing the new management information, and the recording or reproduction of the data is controlled according to the result of the identification. For example, about only part of watermarks (electronic watermarks) (WM1, WM2, WM3,...) buried in the data of a content, the copy management information is rewritten from 1, 0 (one-generation copiable) to 1, 1 (copy prohibited), they are buried as new watermarks (WM1',...) and recorded on a medium.</p> |
