A lighting arrangement comprising a sensor which is capable of measuring electromagnetic radiation, preferably visible light as well as infrared light, in a room, and comprising control means for controlling the lighting in the room in dependence upon the measured radiation, the sensor comprising a video sensor, such as a CCD (Charged Coupled Device) sensor, which is capable of producing an electronic image of the room.
