<p>The present invention provides monopolar acetabular liners (12) that can hold a femoral head (14) to form a hip replacement prostheses (15), wherein the liner (12) has a rim (16) that creates and orifice, and wherein the orifice has a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the femoral head (14), and wherein there is an outset (22) between the rim (16) of the liner (12) and the center line (18) of the femoral head (14) when the femoral head (14) is disposed therein.
