The invention relates to a method for producing a two or three dimensional glass body. In order to increase mechanical and thermical resistance the rough glass body is produced in the following manner: a rough glass body is produced; said rough body is heated and raised to a temperature higher than the transformation point of the used glass; said rough body is cooled; the cooling process is carried out by means of an extensively operating shower of air; the shower of air and through put of air, in addition to the distance between the blown surfaces of the rough body and the jets of the shower of air are calculated in such a way heat is removed from the rough body (2) in a homogeneous manner.
