A bag forming, filling and sealing machine is described. On the transverse sealing device (9) is provided a device (16) connected with at least one jaw carrier (11) which has the stripper (15) and the stager (14). The device is to be movable by a first drive (17) of the jaw carrier away onto the foil hose (5). The stripper is movable away downwards by a second drive (18) of the stager. The stripper and the stager each have a pair of rods or bars working against one another and movable against the foil hose. The device is connected with both jaw carriers. The transverse sealing device has two transverse sealing jaws to be movable on one another in a horizontal direction.
