METHOD OF ANALYSIS FOR THE PRESENCE OF WOOD TREATMENT SUBSTANCES ON WOOD

A method of determining the presence and quantity of wood treatment substanc e pesticides, water repellants, dimension stabilizers and the like, on wood is provided. The wood treatment substance is combined with a reflective materia l and applied to wood (8). A light beam (6) is impinged on the wood (8), and reflected light (7) measured by a spectral device (9). Color saturation leve l of the reflected light is determined with a microprocessor (10). From this measurement a quantity of wood treatment substance on the wood (8) can then be determined.
