The piloted switching valve has a first spring element (18) acting upon a valve spool (11) to give a maximum switching pressure, and a pressure reducer (30) acting on the spool in opposition to the first spring element. The pressure reducer has a movable control element (33) and a second spring element (31) to reduce the switching pressure determined by the first spring element to a lower pressure by tensioning of the second spring element. The valve spool connects the outlet line (4) to a first inlet line (2) if the pressure in the first inlet line is greater than the switching pressure, and connects the outlet line to a second inlet line (3) if the pressure is less.
