PURPOSE: A method for measuring mutual inductance of an induction motor is provided to be capable of measuring the mutual inductance without saturating a motor and using a voltmeter and an ammeter. CONSTITUTION: First, a reactive power command value is calculated using a preset inductance value. Then, a reactive power detection value is acquired by detecting the reactive power of a motor. Next, the difference between the reactive power command value and the reactive power detection value, it is determined that an actual mutual inductance and a preset mutual inductance are equal if the difference is 0. Then, if the difference is not 0, adjust the mutual inductance for making the difference value be 0. So the adjusted mutual inductance value is recognized as a real mutual inductance value.
