The invention relates to a method for calculating a route from a starting point to a destination. The method is characterised in that the route is calculated through at least one through target after at least one through destination has been predetermined, said through target being located within a radius of the at least one through destination that is predetermined by at least one predetermined criterion. In contrast to known route calculation methods from the prior art, the predetermined through targets are not actually part of the driving route but simply serve as roughly predetermined reference points up to a predetermined radius, for influencing the route calculation process.
