PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer combined liquid crystal for a liquid crystal display device, which has fast response speed, is optically stable and is excellent in contrast while keeping a low mixing ratio of the liquid crystal to the polymer. SOLUTION: The polymer combined liquid crystal for the liquid crystal display device is composed of <=40 wt.% ferroelectric and antiferroelectric liquid crystals and >=60 wt.% polymer. The polymer is obtained by polymerizing an urethane acrylate type oligomer and an acrylate type monomer or a methacrylate type monomer.
