PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of being installed in a smaller space. SOLUTION: The elevator device comprises an elevator car 2 and a weight balancer 1 elevatably arranged in an elevator shaft 3 and connected with an elevator rope 4, the elevator rope 4 being hung on a sheave 5 arranged at the upper part of the elevator shaft 3 and the elevator rope 4 being moved with the rotation of the sheave 5 to cause the elevation of the elevator car 2 and the weight balancer 1. A pair of rails 6, 6 formed into a sectionally U- shape are arranged at both ends of the weight balancer 1 with their openings opposed to each other and a vertical roller 7a grounded on a bottom piece 6a of a rail 6 sectionally U-shaped and a lateral roller 7b grounded on both side pieces 6b, 6b thereof are provided on the weight balancer 1.
