PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method and system capable of more precisely detecting a fault point and consequently performing a precise fault point location. SOLUTION: This method and system comprises storing, in each current detector, the detected current values iA (t) and iB (t) of the current detector in conformation to the time measured by a GPS clock for a fixed time by a memory arithmetic processor equipped with the GPS clock, and differentiating one of the stored detected current values iA (t) and iB (t) in the opening of a circuit breaker, thereby estimating the fault point, specifying the detected current values iA (t) and iB (t) in a prescribed time band on and after the estimated fault point on the basis of the time stored in conformation to the detected currents, and calculating average values iAm and iBm by use of the specified detected current values to locate the fault point. |
