PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transfer printing media such as labels, etc., by appropriately switching a driving method of a stepping motor. SOLUTION: When the printing medium such as a label or the like is started to be transferred, a CPU 11 controls a motor control part 14 to drive the stepping motor 7 by a two phase excitation method and accelerate the motor until reaching a predetermined transfer speed. When the motor reaches the predetermined transfer speed, then, the CPU 11 controls the motor control part 14 to drive the stepping motor 7 by switching the method to a one-two-phase excitation method and transfer the printing medium at a uniform velocity. Thereafter, the CPU 11 controls the motor control part 14 to drive the stepping motor 7 by switching to the two-phase excitation method and decrease the transfer speed to stop the printing medium at a predetermined position. |
