摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus for forming an image by ejecting a plurality of inks for one pixel from a common ink ejection port while varying the mixing ratio based on an image signal, and transferring ink to an image receiver moving relatively to the ink ejection port in which the image quality is enhanced by making sharp the forward end of ink in case of a micro quantity of imaging ink thereby obtaining an image density faithful to the image signal. SOLUTION: At a part where a plurality of inks join, the opening area of at least an ink channel having a minimum ejection quantity is set smaller than the opening area of other ink channels. When the plurality of inks includes an non-imaging ink (also referred to transparent ink) and an imaging ink, the opening cross-sectional area (opening area) of a channel for imaging ink is set smaller than the opening cross-sectional area (opening area) of a channel for non-imaging ink at the part where a plurality of inks join.
