PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature regulating means for a transmission fluid being small and capable of coping with both heating and cooling. SOLUTION: In a drive 10 for a vehicle having an automatic transmission 18, a bypass line 42 is provided in a hydraulic line 37 and a heat storage tank 44 is provided on the bypass line 42. A latent heat material for accumulating heat used in regulating the temperature of the transmission fluid (ATF) is housed in the heat storage tank 44. Thus, if heating or cooling of the ATF by a radiator 32 is precluded or insufficient, as when the temperature of cooling water circulating in a radiator 32 is low immediately after the start of an internal combustion engine 12 or when the temperature of the ATF is higher than it is during normal operation because the vehicle climbs a hill or gets caught in a traffic jam, then the ATF is introduced into the heat storage tank 44 from the bypass line 42 to heat or cool the ATF.
