PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in TFT characteristics of a liquid crystal panel due to the irradiation of UV rays while hardening a sealing material, to avoid display irregularity and to improve the quality. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the liquid crystal panel by disposing a pair of substrates 1, 2 to face each other with a sealing agent interposed, hardening the sealing agent, injecting a liquid crystal through an injection port, and then sealing the injection port with a UV curing resin 5, UV shielding masks 3a, 3b are disposed on the upper and lower faces of the liquid crystal panel in such a manner that the masks overlap in the direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the panel in the region along the side line of the panel where the injection port is present and from the effective pixel part to above a black matrix 4 and then the injection port is irradiated with UV rays through the side face of the penal end and sealed. Therefore, when the injection port is sealed with the UV curing resin 5 after the injection of the liquid crystal, local deterioration in the TFT characteristics due to the UV rays propagating into the effective pixel part can be prevented and the obtained liquid crystal panel is excellent in the quality causing no display irregularity in the effective pixel part.
