PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive member for preventing erroneous detachment of an optical connector, which is attachably/detachably installed in an optical connector and capable of preventing erroneous operation of a latch release. SOLUTION: The member 10 for preventing erroneous detachment of an optical connector is installed attachably and detachably in the optical connector 1, which possesses a manually latch-releasing means 6 such as a latch arm for holding connector connection on one face of a small rectangular optical connector housing 3. This preventive member 10 consists of a latch protecting part 11 for preventing contact with a latch operating part 6a and a connector holding part 12 for installing the member in the optical connector. In addition, the preventive member 10 is provided with a tilt preventing piece 13 for preventing the latch protecting part from tilting, and is designed to be installed in the optical connector by means of the boots 5 of the connector.
